It's Good to be "Home"

Most of you know that last year I absolutely fell in love with Park and loved teaching there. I missed it a lot while I spent the last semester at Huntington and last night I got a call that I was requested at Park today, woohoo! I subbed for Knapp and it just felt right being there. I liked Huntington and I loved the kids I worked with, but I did not like some of the staff. They were very cliquey and just not very nice. I never once felt like a part of the 4th grade team despite the fact I was there from nearly the beginning of the school year. I loved the third grade team and always felt like a part of their group, but never 4th grade, where I actually was listed as being on that team. At Park, it's completely different, and from the moment I got there I knew that not a whole lot had changed and I was still part of the Burgundy Team, even though it was my first day subbing in months, and I hadn't started my long-term yet. I just love that whole environment, I like the teachers there, and the kids are good too. It's a very different group this year, as I expected. They're a lot less mature than the previous class, and a lot more needy, which is odd. But it'll work and I am looking forward to being back there full time again.

In other news, don't you just hate when timing is everything? It's so irritating. I know that some people are just not meant to be together for whatever reason for whatever amount of time, but if we could have just been in sync for five seconds, things could have worked out really well. But it's still comforting knowing that he likes my caboose. I happen to like it a lot too so we have that in common. Now if only we could take time to figure out what else we have in common, which so far includes a love of JT (but in different ways) and Mountain Dew. *Sigh*
